BIR to Pacquiao: “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

People's Champ Manny Pacquiao is addressed by Atty. Rozil Lozares, BIR Director for Region 8, of bible verses.

“’Yung mga pariseo tinanong si Hesukristo kung dapat ba magbayad ng buwis kay Caesar. Kumuha siya ng isang coin, tinanong niya 'yung pariseo kung sino ang nakalagay doon na mukha, ang nangdoon po ay ang mukha ni Caesar. Sabi niya ‘Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's,’” said Lozares in an interview.

This is the answer of Bureau of Internal Revenue regarding the tax case of Pacquiao since he is very much into bible verses lately. BIR noticed a big discrepancy in his tax remittances in 2009 compared to 2008 where he paid about 100 million in 2008 and 7 million in 2009.

Pacquiao remained firm that he already paid his taxes in the US. The BIR said that they are willing to give tax credits to the boxing champ only if he will submit necessary documents which Pacquiao failed to do.

Basic Requirements of Graceful Aging

What I’ve discovered is that there are three “basic requirements” of graceful aging. To borrow from the “Serenity Prayer”, graceful aging requires the “serenity to accept the things we cannot change; courage to change the things we can; and wisdom to know the difference.” Certainly acceptance of aging is a key to aging gracefully – but which of the changes that commonly come with age are the “things we cannot change” and which are the “things we can change?”

Working the Puzzle

I believe that treating an illness is like working a crossword puzzle. I have to keep trying different things, different approaches, until I find a way to make the pieces fit.

I hope that Ozone Therapy is the missing piece of my puzzle. Ozone may be my last hope as I have tried just about everything else.
